    The pregnancy care ministry of Sav-A-Life, Vestavia is dedicated to offering free services in a loving environment for women, men and their families during a difficult time in their lives. Their purpose is to affirm life—both physically and spiritually. Our trained volunteer counselors offer pregnancy testing and confidential counseling for men and women. A licensed medical clinic provides free pregnancy testing. Ultrasound and STD testing for the clients. The mentor-educate-support department helps prepare clients for parenting, childbirth and post-abortion recovery. More information

    Refurbish houses for low income residents in Birmingham. The project can be customized by time available and for any number of volunteers. More information


  • The Foundry Rescue Mission and Recovery Center, Leslie Freeman—205.424.4673
    The Foundry has a recovery program, re-entry program, worship center, outlet store, auto center, community outreach and medical center. There are many volunteer opportunities available. More information
  • Lovelady Center,  Vernetta Young—205.833.7410
    located in BIrmingham's old East End hospital building. The Lovelady Center is a 6-12 month transitional program servicing over 350 women and 100 children. There are many volunteer opportunities. More information


  • Meals on Wheels, Alma Moore—205.592.0413 ext 4
    Delivering hot noon meals to homebound citizens of Jefferson County; volunteers are needed for routes of 10-15 stops, once a week or once or twice a month. More information
  • Food For Friends (Birmingham Baptist Association)
    Volunteers from around the Birmingham Baptist Association spend a part of their Thanksgiving holiday weekend ministering to others in the community through Food for Friends, the Association's annual feeding and clothing program. The ministry lasts four days, starting Thanksgiving morning, serving four breakfasts and two lunch meals to some of the area's most needy. More information
