Our Adult Bible Study ministry reflects what is taught in our Preschool, Children, and Youth ministries. We continue to help our members understand the love of Christ and our role and Christians in sharing that love. Our purpose is to teach the Word and to instruct our members in how to live like Christ in their daily lives. Our Bible study groups focus not only on the study of God’s word, but also in the application of His word in our life, marriage, family, and careers.

When a child moves into our Student ministry it is a significant moment in his/her life. He/she is a Youth. Our Student ministry continues the training started and developed in our preschool and children’s ministry. The Student ministry takes the next step in building a strong Christian lifestyle. Our Students become more actively involved in the ministry role. Leading by example, our teachers help the jr. high school and high school students discover the “servant’ role of being a Christian. Our students are given many opportunities to get involved and to grow in their faith. As we teach them the Word we encourage them to discover how God can use them and their talents for His kingdom. |

What do you do with an active 3rd grade boy? You direct that excitable energy into a positive learning experience. How do you help a 1st grader overcome shyness in a new environment? Through patience, love, and kindness. Our Children’s Ministry is a natural building block for life. Our children are challenged, encouraged, and given many opportunities to experience success and achievement. Our Children’s Minister and teachers recognize that every child is special and unique, and every child has God given abilities. Through the study of God’s word and the activities developed in the lessons our children are able to discover their uniqueness and their abilities to learn and succeed. Our desire is for each child to learn about God’s love and how our lives should reflect that love. We want our children to learn to worship with their lives. |

Our Preschool Ministry provides a wonderful foundation for each child’s future. The foundation begins with love. Quality people who love preschool children teach each class, from bed babies to kindergarten. Our teachers and leaders feel called to work with the little ones. This calling is reflected in the way they interact with the children. Children are shown the love of Jesus as they are taught the stories and lessons from the Bible. Every child learns that Green Valley Baptist Church is a safe place where they are loved and are special.
| Discipleship is designed to train believers to live like Christ. “. . .teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 NIV In Jesus’ Great Commission the disciples are instructed to teach the commands of Christ to those who accept Him as Savior. Learning and obeying the commands of Christ are crucial steps in allowing Christ Lordship in our lives. The courses address specific areas of a person’s life and how the Bible instructs us to reflect Christ. Discipleship courses could be about premarital relations, raising godly children, financial planning, or developing a deeper prayer life. Many of the issues Christians face are covered in discipleship courses. Discipleship Training and Sunday School work together so Christians may follow Paul’s advice to Timothy and, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15 NIV To Top |
